Colloquium ”Reconstitution de la musique et de la peinture anciennes”

CARLES MAGRANER PARTICIPATES IN THE COLLOQUIUM ”RECONSTITUTION DE LA MUSIQUE ET DE LA PEINTURE ANCIENNES

Université París 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne- organize in collaboration with the Department of Art History, the Cité de la Musique in Paris and the Valencian Institute of Conservation and Restoration, the colloquium ”Reconstitution de la musique et de la peinture anciennes”, that will take place in the Auditorium Colbert in Paris on October 26.

Carles Magraner leads the day, along with other experts as the restorer William Whitney, Joël Dugot, curator of Musée de la Musique, Stéphane Vaiedelich from Cité de la Musique or Carmen Pérez, deputy director of IVC + R CulturArts (among others), crossing glances in the reconstruction of ancient music and painting, comparing methods and expanding common issues such as iconography as a source of restoration, reconstruction of early music through instruments, art technologies, restoration, the original work.. From the exceptional paintings discovered as the Musician Angels of Valencia’s Cathedral (15th century), and the representations found in the church of Saint – Etienne in France Corbeil – Essones (16th century), all representing iconographic programs around musician angels around.

This colloquium forms the first part of a diptych whose second phase will take place in March 2014, dedicated especially to show the significant amount of musical experience through a Capella de Ministrers concert, and more broadly to the History of experimental Art.
