CAPELLA DE MINISTRERS RELEASES TIMETE DEUM, THE APOCALYPSE OF ST. VICENTE FERRER, TO CELEBRATE THE 6th CENTENARY OF THE COUNCIL OF CONSTANCE.

The next October 18 at 19:30h in the Salón Alfonso the Magnanimous of the Beneficencia (Valencia), Capella de Ministrers launch a preview of the new program TIMETE DEVM, the Apocalypse of St. Vicente Ferrer, as prior to the 600th anniversary of the Council of Constance, celebrated the upcoming 2014.

In order to end the Great Western Schism -wish had led the paradoxical situation of three simultaneous popes who disputed their authority- and study the reform of the Catholic Chruch, was convened in 1414 the Council of Constance. In this historical fact had decisive role two Spanish personages: the (anti)Pope Benedictus XIII -Papa Luna- and St. Vicente Ferrer. Their decisions were decisive for the history of Europe and for the fate of both.

In this context of division and disunty of the Catholic Church, St. Vicente Ferrer settled with great fame as a preacher of God’s Judgement. Dubbed by locals as ”the Angel of the Apocalypse”, his ominous preaching through European territory was addressed to avoid bad habits, continually reminding that the Final Judgement awaits to all of us, touching deeply the souls of most believers, but also the most skeptical.

Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of the Judgement has come” [14:7]
