Carles Magraner presents Capella de Ministrers new concert program dedicated to Spanish historical music from 16th to 17thcenturies.
Capella de Ministrers presents a concert program for the year of Cervantes commemoration: 2016, the 4th centenary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes.
Don Quixote, the Spanish novel written by Miguel de Cervantes and published in two volumes, in 1605 and 1615, is considered the most influential work of the history of literature from the Spanish Golden Age and the entire Spanish literary canon. It regularly appears on the top of the lists of the greatest works of fiction ever published, such as the Bokklubben World Library collection which cites Don Quixote as authors’ choice for the “best literary work ever written”, and has been translated into more languages than any book other than the Bible.
In the work of Miguel de Cervantes (and not just in Don Quixote) could be found an inexhaustible source of references to musical traditions, dance and music of Spain in the 16th and early 17th centuries.
